I hadn't taken any other drugs for at least two weeks with the exception of the caffeine in tea, and some cannabis earlier in the week (not before taking the 2c-c). It was 11 p.m., and I was a bit sleepy after working all day. My boyfriend and I were taking it for the first time – looking for a snuggly night together. I had eaten dinner just a couple of hours before taking it.

Start: I took 20 mgs and my boyfriend took 25. We lay down in bed and he started giving me a massage as we were coming up. It took roughly an hour to kick in for both of us.

One Hour In: It had a very dreamy feel, similar to Hawaiian Baby Woodrose. I felt very tired and actually dozed off a few times during the first hour of the trip. It was subtle, but I knew I was tripping because I was even more cuddly that usual, and I felt the urge to continue talking to my boyfriend about intimate things even though my body wanted to sleep. Also my eyes were watery.

Two Hours In: I was more awake at this point – no longer dozing off – although I felt like I could sleep if I really tried to. Tactile stimulation was enhanced – I loved how warm the bed, and my boyfriend were. I was still chatty – but not the forced, speedy chatting of ecstasy, more just a gentle shove to share more.

The body load wasn’t as bad as that I’ve experienced from 2C-B and even LSD. My stomach didn’t hurt at all, in fact I was hungry. It might have something to do with the small dosage? There were no visuals to speak of – but my boyfriend did notice closed-eye visuals. We were both just in love with my boyfriend’s cat. I am allergic to him so he usually isn’t allowed in the bedroom, but this time we let him sit on the desk chair, and we kept looking at him – enthralled with his cuteness.

Three Hours In: Music is really interesting at this point. My boyfriend and I started taking turns loading music videos. We usually listen to psytrance but we were both really open to listening to new things that we’ve never listened to while tripping – and we both got greatly absorbed by the music. It’s really emotional and really lovely. I could’ve cried just from listening to the songs. Still into the tactile sensations at this point. Playing with candle wax felt amazing. Body still felt fine.

Four Hours In: We decide to each take one balloon of nitrous. For the first time ever – I feel sad while I am taking the nitrous. I still feel anesthetized but I am thinking about my friend’s sister, and my brother, who were in both in serious car accidents in recent years. We then start vaporizing some weed and I feel better. I snuggle into my boyfriend.

Five Hours In: We both fall asleep.

The Next Day: I felt fine. I was tired from staying up late, but was still able to get up before noon. I wasn’t able to concentrate much on work that day, but I was still able to go out for dinner with family. I didn’t notice any ill mood effects, and by the next day it was as if I hadn’t taken anything two nights before. If there were any remaining effects it was an afterglow and renewed appreciation for my wonderful lover.

My substance-use history includes: cannabis, mushrooms, LSD, 'ecstasy,' DMT, ketamine, ayahuasca, san pedro, methamphetamine, Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds, 2c-i, 2c-e, 2c-b, 5-Meo-Mipt, oxycodone, salvia, caffeine, and nitrous.
