Lame No Positive Effect
Blue Lotus

DOSE:
1 bowl vaporized Lotus/Lily - Nymphaea nouchali var caerulea (dried)
BODY WEIGHT: 170 lb
So I had just bought myself the Silver Surfer Vape and having no access to marijuana, I decided to try a legal entheogen. After doing hours of research over the span of a few days I decided to order an oz. of Blue Lotus. Since I often have problems with insomnia I was hoping that it would at least be relaxing or slightly sedative to help me sleep or to just help me chill. My expectations were not unrealistic though. I knew that it was unlikely to produce a strong effect and that any effect was likely to be subtle (especially in contrast to marijuana).

But I still had hope that it would do something. So I grounded up a bowl of lotus leaves and started toking. The taste was very odd, slightly sweet yet bitter and unfamiliar; something I couldn't really get used to and that made me more nauseated the more I paid attention to the flavor. In all honesty, I couldn't see any heavy vapor and I am sort of a novice on this thing, but as the plant matter started to lose more and more of its color I decided I've had enough. I sat there on my bed in my room waiting for anything, and you know what I got? A massive allergy attack
you know what I got? A massive allergy attack
. Yup, within minutes my eyes began to itch as well as my throat and my nose started running like a faucet. This was my stupid move though as I'm allergic to pollen and should've figured 'gee there might be some pollen on those there lotuses!' But I didn't, and I paid for it.

All and all I was very disappointed with Blue Lotus. It did nothing for me except make me look and feel miserable for a little while (although I want to stress it was my allergy to pollen and not the plant itself that most likely caused my reaction). I threw the rest of that garbage away and took some benadryl to kill the allergies and knock me out.

I would have been happy with any noticeable sedative effect yet it was just a few bucks down the drain. The DEA will not ban this anytime soon.
