DOSE:
750 mg oral Vitamins - Choline
    oral Chamomile (tea)
BODY WEIGHT: 170 lb
I had recently reached a plateau in my progress with lucid dreams. I was able to have a lucid dream any morning I wanted, but I would always wake up from the dream before I wanted to. Most lucid dreams lasted no more than 30 seconds. My longest had been about 90 seconds. I decided that I would try choline to help get me past this plateau.

I went to bed at around 9:00 PM, woke up at 4:00 AM, took 750mg of choline (bitartrate) with chamomile tea, read till 4:30 AM, then went back to bed. While laying in bed, I used a mnemonic to try to induce a lucid dream. This was my normal lucid dream induction routine, except for the choline. (I was in the habit of having chamomile tea at this time, so I am sure that the effects below were not caused by the chamomile. The tea just helps me relax and fall back to sleep.)

That night I had my best lucid dream yet. There were three specific areas of improvement:

1. The dream was about 5 minutes long, which was much longer than my previous record. Things that would normally wake me up, such as flying, did not. Sometimes my vision would go black, which normally ends my lucid dreams, but in this dream I was able to recover my vision after it went black.

2. I readily recognized false awakenings, which is normally difficult for me. I had two or three false awakenings, and I recognized each one. (I don't know exactly how many because my memory of the dream is fuzzy at certain parts.)

3. I was able to hear spoken words, which for some reason I had never been able to do in lucid dreams, even though I can do it in normal dreams.

Unfortunately, subsequent experiences with choline were not nearly as good as this first time. However, choline does increase the incidence of sleep paralysis for me, which then leads to a lucid dream (or out of body experience). So choline increases the number of lucid dreams I have, but in general not the quality of those dreams.
