Adderall Experiences and Tolerance

In 2003/2004 my love affair with adderall began. My doctor prescribed it to me because of ADD symptoms during graduate school. I believe that I would not have made it without this drug. The set and setting were perfect for this medicine, I had course work that I completed, very well, with this medication, also it was legal and being prescribed by my doctor so I had no worries about taking it.

The effects of this drug for me were just incredible. I gave me lots of energy, I could quickly and efficiently complete grade A school work, I was focused, could actually find things that I kept losing, etc. meaning my ADD got better. My confidence and self esteem rose emensly. I felt like I could do and acomplish anything. It acted as a social lubricant for me, easy to talk to people. Easier to get along with people. Also it gave me a body high where my fingers/body tingled in a very euphoric, feel good kind of way. I felt love for everyone and extremely optimistic also my depression went away. I did try snorting it a couple of times and its not worth it, it works better by mouth.

I would say that the first few times I took it I could feel it very quickly, I had problems getting out of bed sometimes so I'd take my adderall and low and behold I was up and ready for the day. It like physically kicked me out of bed!!!! I must add that there were times I took more than I should have and I thought I was going to die, my heart was beating so fast I thought I was having a heart attac. In my opinion this is a drug to be careful with when it comes to dosing, a very large does did not make me feel good, I would feel paranoid and think I was having a heart attack which could be very possible when od'ing on the medication.

I just take enough to give me that good feeling. I did however become tolerant to it even at 30mg dose twice a day. But it took 7 years for this to happen.

I am now going to be switching to focalin xr.
