Long-Term Deep Thinking
Amphetamines (Adderall)

DOSE:
20 mg oral Amphetamines (daily)
BODY WEIGHT: 150 lb
I was diagnosed with AD(H)D in 2nd grade. From then til 5th grade I was on Ritalin twice a day (unknown dosage at this point). I do not remember much of the drug's effects on me, and I don't really think any effects from an 8 year old kid are relevant.

Once I was on Adderall, I eventually began to notice (around 8th grade) that I would have periods of very deep thinking and strong philosophical views.
I would have periods of very deep thinking and strong philosophical views.
The initial experiment of proving it was the drug was to work on a school project during the night while taking an extra dose. I had never had such mindblowing ideas before. And while some were far-fetched, others made perfect sense.

I experimented a few times with pulling all nighters in that fashion and oftentimes writing down my ideas. My next experiment occurred at my second prom in 11th grade. I took my normal 20mg dose before getting on the bus (because we would get searched before boarding). Once we got there and I heard the music, I felt amazing. The bass seemed to enhance any and every thought I ever had. And it was just the bass frequencies. Thankfully every song they played had the usually ridiculous pop music basslines and synth beats. By the end of that night, I was a well of philosophy, having new theories about everything.

I eventually stopped taking my Adderall because I was tired of being dependant on a drug to even sit still during a test. Unfortunately, I wish I would have kept my prescriptions intact and kept getting my visits for new ones, because I have a feeling that it would have made an awesome recreational drug for me. Sadly, all of my recreational experiences have been with robotussin, vicodin, caffeine, and gabapentin. 1/2 of those choices scare me in larger quantities due to the acetaminophin/paracetemol in them. Caffeine gives me panic attacks and gabapentin (while in large supply at my house due to my father getting nerve damage via dog bite) takes such a large dose and lasts so long that I can't take it if I work the next morning.

While I enjoy my other experiences, I think Adderall was the most rewarding of any. It made me feel good by making me feel smarter, or at least letting me access more of my brain's capabilities.
