I started taking ultram for a hernia after being on percocet for five weeks. My doc decided that I needed a pill that I could take long term. I had taken ultram before and knew that it was kinda like a week codine and could be used recreationaly, especially since he prescribed me a 6mo suppy of 600 pills.

I started out taking 4 at a time every 8 hours until I eventually worked my way up to 7 every two hours and went on like this for about a two months. Everything came to a head one night, I had just dropped 6 50mg tablets, my third set in four hours and set down to play some video games. The next thing I know I was waking up on my living room floor with EMTs and military police asking me if I knew where I was. I was taking to the hospital and givin an IV, a CT scan, blood work, and a urine test. After four hours I was told that I could leave but before I left my doc told me I tested positive for PCP which floored me cause I had never done PCP, lots of other hard drugs in my past but none in the past five years since I am military and certainly not PCP. A second urine test confirmed the first. The GC/MC test did confirm that I had no PCP in my system but it did cause a false positive.

The day after my seizure I decided to quit the ultram cold turkey, the first three days were a living HELL. I have come down off of coke, Exctasy, Speed, and other opiates and nothing compares to the withdrawl from the ultram. On the third day I went back to see my doc and we worked out a program to wean off of the tramadol with the help of some anti-anxiety pills.
