I want to start by saying that my experience with nitrous oxide changed my life. I have tried LSD and MDMA as well as other milder psychoactive substances, but none of them have opened my mind as deeply and strongly as nitrous. This experience occurred a couple of weeks ago and I have been wanting to write about it since.

The night began with the UPS man. Two of my closest friends and I had ordered a large box of nitrous oxide from a kitchen supply store. I don't remember exactly how much each of us inhaled that night, but the exact amount doesn't matter so much because my most intense experience of the night happened after a round of four canisters from a charger.

We started inhaling the nitrous around 6pm then stopped for about an hour while some other friends stopped by. While they were in my apartment we had a conversation about a friend who passed away a few years ago of a drug overdose. He seemed to understand more about life and death than anyone and everyone was greatly affected by his death. (I say this because I think it has something to do with my coming experience with nitrous.)

After the friends who had stopped by left we randomly got hold of some MDMA. We took that around 8pm and began inhaling nitrous immediately after. We put in the movie Across the Universe and all fell silent. One of the trippier songs was playing in the movie and it was my turn with one of the chargers. I inhaled two chargers full of nitrous (at this point I was rolling hard) and already felt a bit euphoric. All of a sudden the nitrous kicked in and I planed. Everything in the room disappeared and all I could see was the movie screen. I couldn't hear anything except for the song playing (it sounded like it was very far away) and the 'wawa' noise that occurs when nitrous is in the system. I then saw a big swirl of electric colors and my body became numb. It was as if the only part of me in existence was my soul. I felt a sense of the 'positive absolute,' like everything that was going to happen would and that none of it really mattered because in the end this is what I would feel like.
I felt a sense of the 'positive absolute,' like everything that was going to happen would and that none of it really mattered because in the end this is what I would feel like.

Now something very strange happened. What's weird is that I read another experience story about nitrous (The Very Angry Lady) and it seems eerily similar to what happened to me. The swirl of colors changed into a swirl of people in colorful gowns and a very large woman appeared. She looked at me and stretched out her hand to me. She then said something like 'follow me, I will take you through.' When I read the story I mentioned above I became a little frightened because it seemed as if the person in the story felt that he or she was experiencing something like death and the woman told him he didn't belong there. In my story, the woman summoned me to go with her through some type of gate. While I was deciding whether or not to let her take me I began to hear my friend's voice speaking to me. At that point I snapped out of this 'trip' and came back into the physical world.

I don't know if this happened because death had been the topic of conversation earlier in the night, but I truly feel like I experienced what happens to the soul when one passes from the physical world into the metaphysical one. Many people would probably stay away from nitrous if they experienced what I did. However, I have since had a strong urge to go back to that place and find out what it is if that is even possible. At the moment I felt as if I understood everything about the universe and about the levels of psychedelic experience. However, since then I have lost that understanding from living in the 'real world.'

Nitrous Oxide creates mind-opening and intense life-changing experiences. They seem very true rather than simply drug induced.
