I've had a handful of lucid dreams, they were all very pleasant, and I was able to fly at will, and change the scenery and people in my dream. I'm never able to bring about a lucid dream by willing myself to do so. I've read many books on Lucid dreaming techniques, but I never have the time or patience to follow through with everything they tell you to do.

When I heard about Calea I thought it might be my EASY WAY IN. I tested a dried calea leaf in my mouth for about 15 minutes to make sure there was no allergy. I was in a very good state of mind when I took the tea. The rest of the herbs, other than the calea, was my usual dream mix. I had taken those herbs in combination many times. I figured by adding the calea to my usual mix (about 1 tsp of each in tea, steeped for about 20 min), maybe it would't taste as bad, and maybe the other herbs would help in some way. I was Vastly Mistaken. My usually calm and tasty dream mix turned almost pukeworthy when I added the calea. But I drank it down, thinking my enhanced dreamstate might be worth the bad taste.

About 40 minutes later, I layed down to try and get to sleep. I couldn't hardly get to sleep, and my arms and legs started itching and almost burning. I thought maybe it was just par for the course, and tried to ignore it. I closed my eyes again, and got some very minor visuals, nothing I hadn't seen any normal night right before bed when I started to drift into a light dream state. My face started to feel almost numb, and I just got a really weird feeling. The feeling reminded me of right before I fell asleep when they took my tonsils out when I was younger. Almost like an astral projection, but not anywhere close to as pleasant.

I woke up several times in a cold sweat. It took me forever to go to sleep, and when I finally did, I only remembered one dream, right before I woke up the next morning. The dream wasn't vivid, deep, easily remembered, intense, or out of the ordinary in any way. Although my legs were sore like I had been fighting bears in my sleep, and I felt really spacey and strange the next day. I think maybe I did have some intense dreams, but my higher self protected me from remembering them for some reason.

I'm still a little weirded out by the whole experience. It's been about 5 days since that night, and I still haven't had any vivid dreams. Maybe one of the other herbs had a negative effect on the calea, I think most likely the Ginko. But who knows. I won't be trying Calea again for a while, and if I do, I'll be taking it without any other herbs. I think what I learned from this experience is that The EASY WAY IN might not be something everyone is ready for. Your Subconscious will open the doors you want opened without herbs or drugs, but only when you have put in some time and are ready for it.

What I've done for lucid dreaming: lots of Meditation, B vitamins, the mix of herbs I took (minus the Calea), buying a good book on Lucid dreaming, and actually putting in the time and energy to follow through with everything.
