DOSE:
.5 mg oral Pharms - Clonazepam (pill / tablet)
BODY WEIGHT: 130 lb
I'm a 21 years old and I was prescribed clonazepam for social anxiety disorder, November 2005. My doctor gave me a prescription for 0.5 mg, to be taken every 12 hours or when needed. Since I didn't have much anxiety when I wasn't in an overly public place (I take it for school), I only took it occasionally.

It takes anywhere from half an hour to an hour to kick in, and the first thing I noticed was the incredible sense of vertigo. I was in class by the time it kicked in, sitting back in a chair. I felt the 'wave' come over me and I thought about being high on pot and the 'fuzzy' feeling of the onset of drunkenness. I could not pay attention to anything the prof was saying, and instead just sat there wanting to close my eyes and feel it.

Once the vertigo feeling starts to fade, there is just this sense of calmness, I like to describe it as being surrounded by clouds. My entire body feels completely relaxed, no tension.

There's a noticeable lag in concentration. Zoning out is easy to do with I'm 'covered in clouds.' One of the best aspects of this drug is the ability for it to take away stress. Any disturbing thought still seems disturbing, but isn't as difficult to think about-not in the least bit. Any fear of doing something drifts away and is replaced with a settled calmness, where I can easily accomplish a task without much hassle.

Something to note, I have driven while using this drug but this could be dangerous as things seems to slow down with my body (not my mind) and that can be potentially dangerous-even more so with higher doses, obviously.

I currently take this drug just to feel that vertigo and calmness, but am now finding the effects aren't lasting or even occurring to begin with. This, folks, is obviously a bad sign, and I'm told coming off of any Benzodiazepine (Valium is also in this class) means ten times more anxiety and many other horrible effects.
