The first time I chose to try 5-meo-dmt I was a little nervous about “how” it worked. It was a mild late fall day and I was at a fellow travelers house. He was so taken up by the experience he talked me into trying it. Not that he had to twist my arm but I have heard of cases where 5-MEO-DMT has cause temporary convulsions when smoked. Plus a reputable harm reduction website's effect summary of this drug made me think that smoking the substance is chemical terror. Obviously I chose the insufflation method of doseing, taking around 10 milligrams up the nose. Although the bad reputation of snorting this chemical I do not seem to mind it. All I noticed was a slight pressure at the roof of my mouth, as if someone was pressing up on it with his or her thumb.

My friend and my self shortly stepped outside and I started to feel this crazy euphoria in my stomach. I said to my friend, who I refer to as T, “Well It’s not what I thought it was.” Just shortly after the first feeling of the drugs effects I had to piss. I found a tree to my suiting and pissed. I yelled, “T it’s scaring the piss out of me,” and laughed hysterically. Wait, Something is changing. Now five to ten minutes after dosing I feel my ego disappear. Wow!!! Am I alive? I feel everything and nothing at all. “We HAVE to walk!!” I exclaimed and we did. We walked down the same path chosen by us many times before under the same (but different drug) experiences. “God I feel as If I can feel god. Their where no real visual distortions but yet the entire world was distorted in beauty rather then insanity. I felt empty. “Feel my heart T am I alive?” To humor me he did and reminded me that at the peak of this drug that feeling goes away to be replaced by an overwhelming feeling of spirit. After being told this we walked towards our destination and it hit me. This is how god sees. We talked about how life functions. How god is in everything and how man interacts with the world around him. “How am I so intoxicated but so clear minded?' I could add, talk, and walk to perfection. The wildest thing I noticed was the Time distortion. I was in fear of being late meeting my girlfriend. Have I been in this field forever? Am I late?? No only a half an hour has went by and in knowing this I started to hum my favorite Pink Floyd song “learning to fly” and proceeded to sing the first lyrics. “Into the distance, River of black” and my friend laughed because that song has a certain significant to us. The drug has worn off and once we where back at his house I jumped in my car and turned on the key. The album Momentary Lapse of Reason by Pink Floyd was in my tape deck. It unknowingly started at the same point of what I started singing in the fields where we where walking. My friend T just shook his head and laughed.
