At around 9:45, I took the pill wih some coffee. I thought since this would supposedly knock me out like a light the caffeine would help, and seeing as it was semi-late, if I did crash, it would be okay. In about ten minutes I felt something, but I figured this was just my imagination, but after fifteen minutes, I could tell something was definitely happening. This stuff hits surprsingly fast, and twenty minutes in I was hallucinating completely. There were all manner of visual distortions. For example, my computer slowly slid into my desk, and the strings on my guitar were suddenly a foot above the neck of the guitar. THey seemed completly real, and it was only by attempting to play then that I realized I was hallucinating. There was generally everythgn movien and objects coming out of the computer screen towards me, and the various I'm boxes I had open were flying all around the screen. I find it interesting that shapes with square corners were especially affected. There was a general rocking motion back and forth, leading me to believe that I was on a boat.
It was this idea that fueled the most peculiar part of the trip. The entire thing reminded e of being a DJ at a party on a boat heading to Jamaica. It's not that I was seeing water or any such thing, rather, I was thinking of how much this reminded me of that, though I've never done anythign like that before. There was a general sense of being with other people, of the warmth and comfort of close freinds, and I told someone online that it reminded me of when I was God.
The problem with Ambien I think, is the duration. I took 10 mg, and I was back to almost baseline in an hour and a half. One thing I find interesting is I didnt feel sleepy at all, just amazed by how great I felt. As far as after effects, I felt some unusual sleepyness the next day, but there was no hangover whatsoever. This is an absolutely AMAZING drug, and I intend to explore higher doses in the future.
