I was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and given Ritalin. I couldn't believe the difference. An hour after I take it, I slow down. I feel calm, relaxed. I can take naps now, I can sit at my desk for as long as I want without getting up, my appetite is stronger, I don't get tired. I speak slower. I think clearer. My handwriting is neater. I organize my house. I don't sweat as much or get flushed or get cold hands anymore. I sleep like a rock. I am not tired during my gym workouts. I stopped smoking. I have smoked for 9 years but I never felt a high from smoking ( or caffeine for that matter.) This first day on Ritalin I took a drag and felt this awesome rush to my brain. I guess that is nicotine for you. Ten years smoking ( and inhaling mind you) and I never had that experience. I quit that day and have never picked up a cigarette. I get more done at work. I don't grind my teeth at night anymore or have insomnia. I don't have messes around the house anymore. I remember more things and I take more time to listen to people. With Ritalin, I have never felt so relaxed or healthy or calm in my life. I don't know how I went through 32 years without it.
