Well it all started when my parents took me to a doctor about 3 years ago when I was 14. I walked away with a prescription for Adderall. It took me about 6 months before I realized the euphoria I was experiencing. I slowly started to look forward to it every morning. Then about a year and a half later I started occasionally taking two doses a day. Fast forward to 3 months ago: I'm taking 3-4 doses a day and running out of my prescription early. By this time I know I'm addicted.

I finally get the nerve to tell my doctor I'm addicted because I know I can't keep on like this. To my surprise he tells me 'You're not addicted. Think of someone with a broken leg, the doctor gives them codiene to take away the pain. When the codiene wears off they take another pill.' I couldn't believe what he was saying. But I walked away with a prescription for a higher dose.

I have read the other submissions about Adderall and I know the feelings all too well. I smoke pot from time to time but I just can't enjoy it, I always think 'This isn't as good as adderall!' I figure I will finish my senior year on the drug then I am off. I used to be a real social person but I gradually withdrew. I just started taking Paxil with Adderall and it seems to be working out better.
