I took 25mg of 5-MeO-DPT three hours ago today. Before the trip, I had a psychedelic tolerance from a 100ug lysergamide trip 6 days ago. I have extensive experience with substances. I took 5mg of Coreg and 12.5mg of meclizine (a generic motion sickness pill) 2 hours before taking the 5-MeO-DPT. I also had a tiny amount of D8-THC tincture in the morning.

My scale might be off as much as 5mg because it's old and overused, but I do have plenty of experience weighing out small quantities of powder and I'd say it looked like 22-28mg. I definitely aimed to take 25mg (after an internal debate with myself over whether or not to take 28mg or, jokingly, 40mg).

Based on reports, I was expecting a slightly visual, very heavy, sedating head trip with a significant body load. However, this was mostly not true in my 5-MeO-DPT trip. The head trip was present, but not the highlight of the trip. I could have acted sober and fooled a number of people as long as I didn't have to converse or stick around for very long. A distracting feeling would make it hard to fool someone with this substance for too long.

If I had waited longer for my psychedelic tolerance to reset, I would have gotten stronger visuals. Psychedelic tolerance whatsoever is said to take at least 3 days, but I find that for tolerance to the finer effects to reset, it may take 2 weeks to a month to be able to perceive them as strongly as before. Smoking cannabis enhanced the visuals. The visuals were very unobvious.

I was watching PC gameplay on YouTube as I came up. I was feeling it at half an hour and reached the peak at one hour. The first effect to catch my attention was a tactile sensation in my head that tingled the whole body in slow, powerful pulses. The pulse started in my imagination and moved slowly down through the whole body. When the pulses began, they would sometimes fall flat, even in mid course. The great pulses came very regularly, like 3-10 minutes apart from each other. I learned how to be able to "dive into the waves" to some extent partway into the trip and I saw great potential in this substance. The waves were an awesome feeling if I let them. The waves were colorful and they had the spirit of Christ. Smoking cannabis enhanced the tactile sensation for me. The pulses could synergize with music and sounds if I let them.

All the while, my mind felt 60-80% capable, like sober. Again, the head trip was present but certainly nowhere as powerful as I expected. I couldn't say I found 5-MeO-DPT "deep" like DMT or its relatives (I have used 5-MeO-DMT before, which was deep). 5-MeO-DPT did have a bit of that surreal light that base DPT has. When I think of DMT, I think of a lot of things, but "bright" just isn't a word that I would use to describe DMT; in contrast, I would describe DPT as something "bright". So being the first substituted DPT molecule I tried, I would say 5-MeO-DPT also carries that same "bright" feeling.

While I could feel sounds, audio was mostly unaffected.

Health wise, I do feel like I could have taken a significantly higher dose without feeling substantially worse. Based on reports, I was prepared to take on a substance that was possibly nauseating and tight. The half of a motion sickness pill I took before dosing helped eliminate nausea, though I do believe I could have kept this substance down without effort regardless of the motion sickness pill. As for tightness, I experienced a small amount of tightness during the come-up but everything else and afterward felt fine. Apparently, your mileage may vary, as 5-MeO tryptamines are often accused of feeling tight, so I was better safe than sorry this first time.

5-MeO-DPT 25mg orally was a relatively functional, novel, synaesthetic, very tactile trip, modest but present in other senses, and next time, I will take much more! 4 hours after dosing and I feel the substance, but the pulses are gone as I come down slowly.
