I've tried almost every psychiatric drug in the book (Prozac, Zoloft, Trintillex, Valdoxan, Latuda, Abilify, Solian, Seroquel, Stemetil, Ativan, Valium, Vyvanse, Dexies, Strattera, Ritalin) and a lot of different pain medications too (Panadol, Nurofen, Celobrex, Orphenadrine, Duloxetine, Panadeine Forte, Tramadol) with no relief. Many of them had very severe adverse reactions or didn't work. I suffered from recurring psychotic episodes, severe depressions and OCD. I am also autistic but don't really consider that an illness rather than a form.

I was a vegetative shell, devoid of any reason or capability to think for myself, constantly paranoid and always on the brink over the edge of that cliff. For what felt like eons, I suffered in a state worse than death.

I tried Olanzapine, initially at 5mg and within two days I'd reached the finish line. Relief at last! It took away all elements of the psychosis and depression and helped me get back on my feet. After going up to 10mg my OCD and concentration has helped greatly. I've discovered hidden strengths and really come to value life a lot more.

I love that it works to reduce problems in the long term, but also offers rapid and strong effects in the short term as well in the way that benzodiazepines and opioids do. It actually has qualities of both. Strong antiemetic effects and some analgesic prowess. I find it is comparable to strong opioids in that context but that only lasts for as long as it sedates me. Around eight hours.

It is also a decent sedative. I feel strongly sedated and somewhat relaxed, going to sleep knowing that everything will be ok. And I slept alright. Olanzapine lets me sleep for around eight to ten hours. It has definitely saved my life and greatly substantiated the quality of it.
