The day it was prescribed, I took one 15mg dose in pill form at around 3pm. It took about 45 min to an hour for me to notice side effects. I've experienced brain zaps before, but very rarely whenever I smoke a bit too much cannabis, and usually only happens once during those experiences, but this was much different.
For the next several minutes, I began to feel very tense and anxious. This was also accompanied by brain zaps every few seconds whenever I would move my head. This drug eventually made me just feel like shit as if I was on the verge of coming down with some sickness. It began to wear me out and made me feel very uncomfortable so I decided to nap to see if it would wear off.
After three hours, I woke up and the side effects were gone. I ended up not taking my next dose since I didn't want to repeat that same experience again and let my doctor know about these complications.
The next day, he advised me to continue the regimen to see if the side effects would lessen. I took his advice and tried another dose at about the same time as the day before.
It took noticeably longer for the feeling and side effects to return, but they were still at the same strength. I napped it off again and decided to not take this medication anymore.
I don't see the potential for some to abuse this drug. The regimen takes up to a month to see the anxiety reduction, but brain zaps and malaise for a whole month does not seem worth it to me. Along with that amount of time, recreational use is just not possible since I did not experience anything positive. I may just try to see if therapy could help, as getting prescriptions for drugs that may or may not work is just a hassle.
