I’d like to request that “Depression Relief” (by NewLease, myself) be removed.

I’m writing this report to communicate the dangers of Phenethylamine usage. I used this compound, combined with Selegiline and Hordenine in varying dosage/timing combinations for one month without experiencing adverse effects, however I recently took 1250mg, combined with 1.75mg selegiline, on an empty stomach and had a severe reaction
I recently took 1250mg, combined with 1.75mg selegiline, on an empty stomach and had a severe reaction
with seemingly permanent consequences.

I had taken up to 1200 mg previously, but it seems that the combination of selegiline (also taken regularly but not co-administered) and the empty stomach conspired to reveal a very steep dose-response curve.

The experience was terrifying, because it felt like things were going very wrong with my brain. I took extra blood pressure medication and monitored blood pressure throughout the experience to ensure going to a hospital wasn’t absolutely necessary. I haven’t felt the same since in a variety of notable ways, including feeling tingling sensations at the base of my skull, eyesight and memory have worsened, sense of balance and proprioception are off, tendency to confuse color labeling, mild infrequent nausea, and caffeine no longer makes me feel good, whereas it had been a reliable stimulant of choice for 2 decades previously.

This experience prompted further research into PEA, and I was able to dig up the following article: “Contribution of β-phenethylamine, a component of chocolate and wine, to dopaminergic neurodegeneration: implications for the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease.” Anupom Borah, Rajib Paul, Muhammed Khairujjaman Mazumder, and Nivedita Bhattacharjee [Article Abstract]

Whereas the mechanisms of damage can be debated, I can say with absolute certainty that this is a compound which can cause significant central nervous system damage with a single high administration.

I believe exogenous administration to be unwise, and I believe co-administering Mao-B inhibitors, extending the presence of the molecule, to significantly compound neurological damage.
