I am a 21 year old male student, and have been taking anti-depressants for probably around 6 months now. It all started with the SSRI Paxil, which wasn't really working for me, and I had begun to lose hope of treating my daily anxiety and depression that had been making me lose the ability to function properly. Shortly prior to being weened off of Paxil (probably about the middle of March), I started to vape cannabis. This was the first time I was able to smoke cannabis without getting a panic attack.

Cannabis had been in my life prior to taking anti-depressants, but any time I tried to smoke or vape it (~1 year ago), it put me into minor panic attacks, although I always knew there was something 'special' about cannabis that I wanted to come back to and give it another chance, so I just put it on hold. Coming back to cannabis recently has definitely helped me to cope better with my anxieties and depression , and has helped me to come to better and more logical conclusions about my thoughts, both the good and bad ones.

Some time after weening off of the Paxil, I switched to Effexor and have been taking it ever since, starting at 37.5mg and eventually making my way up to the 112.5mg that I'm at now. There have been zero panic attacks since the last incident over a year ago, and I vape nightly before I go to bed as it helps me unwind and rest peacefully. I've noticed the Effexor boosting my mood a bit, and have had a bit more of a positive outlook on my life as of lately. I'm very glad to have taken the steps that I did.
