I have had multiple experiences, on an empty stomach.

I got the sage from a smudge stick I ordered so naturally it had been dried. My first time I ground up about an inch and a half worth of the 6 inch stick with a knife and picked out the stems. I packed the majority of this into hemp rolling paper and smoked it all in one sitting. The hit is nice and tasteful (minty), but it's smoke is dense. The come on takes within 5 minutes and the high is reminiscent of cannabis if I am active. There is an emotional uplifting as well as a sense of clarity and calmness. If I sit or lay down the sage takes on it's own personality. Subtle patterns form and time slows way down. (easy to fall asleep) I have smoked sage while on MXE and with Cannabis both experiences were very pleasant.
